KARAOKE EWA?

I'm going to be, perhaps a little harsh here and a little controversial.  But as about 2 people are probably going to read this post it probably doesn't really matter that much.

When I read that Ewa was to appear at a Festival in the Czech Republic with the likes of Slipknot I was a little concerned.
How would a large audience who where there for Slipknot react to Ewa?  I hoped that it wouldn't be in a negative manner although I feared that it might.

Let's be honest for a moment.  Ewa hasn't been even close to anything like a 'Rock Star' for a very long time.  Obviously, when she first started in the business that was what she looked like she was going to become.  That changed and the direction she is heading now is far removed from that.  Losing Martin and not replacing him with another guitarist moved her even further away from that perception.  We'll say no more about the Jazz or the Rap.

If that's what she wants to do, obviously, that is her choice.  That's not to say that some of her recent output hasn't been fantastic as it has but some, for me anyway, hasn't been great.

So having watched a little bit of footage from this event (I've not watched it all) I'm a little confused?  Who exactly is this girl who's performing like she hasn't performed in about 15 years?  Nope, I don't know either.

If she has faith and confidence in what's she's doing now what is this all about?
It's play acting, pretending,  being something she's not any longer and I don't like it.

So finally - WILL THE REAL EWA FARNA PLEASE STAND UP.

EWA AT THE BBC.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/c1ldz5gdznno?fbclid=IwY2xjawKoYvFleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHoSHxD9syN26VJ3P4x-Y1e_vM9GCJUMPIc9YzKVxp9kVpCUGtJYyk9gMJIEA_aem_zlakNhxcwB-tDhTdRLxQkw

Well now this was a surprise.  No not the 2 posts in one day but this.

Ewa's duet with Dua Lipa gets a mention here in the UK on the BBC'c European news segment.

Probably the first time ever.  The only time I can recall anyway.

More good news for us fans here in the UK and much needed publicity.  Long may it continue.

One thing I would like to comment on is this.

I've been doing this now for 16 years.  Doing whatever I can to promote Ewa here in the UK and other English speaking territories.

Maybe now (fingers crossed) after all these years, her management will take some notice and maybe will give me some sort of support and help.  I've asked countless times over the years and got nothing.

Hopefully now that will change.

A DUET WITH DUA

First I have a small confession to make.
I'm a 61 year old man and I know virtually nothing about Dua Lipa.  I've heard of her but if my life depended on it I couldn't name even one of her songs.
What I do know is that she is a major superstar here in the UK and throughout most of the known word.

Anyway what apparently happened was that she was performing in Prague for at least two nights and Ewa attended one of her concerts.
What Dua does (which is actually really good) is to pick a  local song from a local artist to sing at her shows.
In Prague she choose Na Ostri Noze which we all know and love.  She didn't know that Ewa was in the audience but was told, met her afterwords and agreed that the next night she would join her on stage to perform it together.

Above is that performance.  This was about the best quality video I could find for it.

Turned out pretty well in my opinion.

Question now is that can this open some doors for Ewa internationally.

Fingers crossed it does.  Watch this space.

NEW SONG. NEW VIDEO.

Many of you familiar with me will know that i'm sad to say that I haven't been overly impressed with Ewa's recent output.  Sorry but it's after all just my opinion.

It had it moments but I wasn't keen on the the most recent album and the couple of recent (ish) songs since then have left me feeling a bit disappointed.

My usual caveat with this one that I can't comment on the lyrics as I don't understand them.
This new one roughly translates as 'I don't know this place' and it's a little bit of a gem.

It has a bit of a 'Countryish' feel to it which I really like and is pleasant and catchy.

I quite like the video too although I don't really understand the whole shedding her clothes bit?  Probably has some sort of meaning to the lyrics I can only presume (anyone??).

All told top marks from me.

LOVE IT.

EWA BACK IN THE UK

Ewa will be returning to London here in the UK on Saturday 19/10/24 for the one night at the 229 Venue.

I've never been there but it is in Central London and looks to be pretty easy to find.

Ticket link is - https://pishter.com/cs-party-229-venue-with-ewa-farna/?fbclid=IwY2xjawFhpR9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHaoFSyzQTekY4ge5C624qUBrBXLraEU1-VtzidluOOeerR3tuaVTlQF_Sg_aem_ctOV8mvfMeZuaRmPtjS0SA

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend.  I am from Belfast and it would cost me more for a 1 night stay in London than spending a month in Poland.  I'm also getting ready to go to Krakow for the show on 27/10.

Anyone who is thinking about going I would be very grateful if you would consider taking a few pics for us and maybe writing a short report  for future publication.

If you would please contact us here or at the EFUK Facebook page.

Personally I am really looking forward to Krakow again.  I have been in very poor health recently and it's highly likely that this will be the last time I will be able to travel to see Ewa.  Please feel free to say hello if you happen to see me in the crowd in Krakow although note that my Polish is not good.

ON EFUK THE FUTURE

You may have noticed that I have recently reopened the EFUK Facebook page.

However there will be some changes to it.

Posts will not be as regular as they once were and I will no longer post about articles etc that I don't understand.  It's pointless continuing to do that.

As ever if anyone wishes to volunteer help they would be very welcome indeed.

EFUK NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Sadly I have to report that the EFUK Facebook page is also now finished.  It's unlikely unless I get a offer of some help with it that it will be a permanent move.reopen again any time soon.

Once again I could write a lengthy and heartfelt post about the reasons why but I don't think anyone would  really be all that interested in reading it.

You can still visit and message the page and who knows I may even reply but for now it's goodbye.
